Enterprise Architecture (EA) encompasses the creation and translation of business strategies and priorities into actionable process, organizational and technology plans to maintain the proper alignment within the business.
Enterprise Architects lead clients through business-driven process, organizational and technology transformations and therefore have a range of skills from business process engineering to technology architecture as well as project management and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Engagements include enterprise strategy, blueprinting, application rationalization, architecture governance, project quality assurance, and building/improving the Office of the Architect for client organizations.
Position Description
We are looking for a highly effective Enterprise Architect to join our team. This person will play a critical role in sales, assessment and delivery of various technology domains. The ideal Enterprise Architect possesses vast experience in a professional services and solution selling environment and has a background that illustrates extensive capabilities in Enterprise Architecture inclusive of Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Data Architecture, Application Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture and Technology Management. The applicant will possess the skills to provide strategic leadership for the solution, offering both conceptual and practical solutions and recommendations to clients.
Responsibilities
Practice Development
Business Planning and Development
- Take responsibility in shaping, designing, and planning specific service lines within the enterprise architecture practice.
- Evangelizing and integrating EA practice domains across other Acquity Group lines of business
- Assist in the business development life cycle by serving as a solution SME in order to assist in the identification and qualification of business development opportunities.
- In conjunction with the Alliances team and the Enterprise Architecture Practice Lead, develop and maintain vendor relationships within the practice or solution offering.
Personal Development
- Act as a visionary, strategist and internal advocate related to the practice area.
- Survey landscape and market for enterprise architecture practice insights, directions or trends, vendors and methodologies.
- Provide subject matter expertise to identify and recommend relevant and workable recommendations and solutions to clients.
- Actively seek out speaking engagements at trade conferences and authorship opportunities in trade publications in relation to the enterprise architecture practice.
- Author, or direct the authorship, of white papers to further the insight and thought leadership within the enterprise architecture practice.
Methodology and Quality Assurance
- Leads development of formalized enterprise architecture methodologies.
- Builds and maintains repository of enterprise architecture deliverables, methodologies and business development documents.
- Works with the Portfolio Director, Engagement Manager or Project Manager to develop the overall implementable architectural design and plan; and serve as a lead, as required, in the oversight of implementation, installation, customization and integration efforts of an engagement to guarantee the intent of the architecture and maintain a high level of quality and performance.
- May oversee aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design and implementation phases for projects within the enterprise architecture practice area.
- Provide highest level of quality assurance for services within the practice or solution area.
Delivery
- Ability to deliver appropriate Enterprise Architecture Governance process tools and Governance models
- Experience in blueprinting, application rationalization, architecture governance, project quality assurance, and building and/or improving the Office of the Architect.

- Assist Marketing Department to develop marketing materials and positioning strategies for the practice or solution area in conjunction with overall marketing message framework.
Quality Assurance
- Leads development of formalized enterprise architecture methodologies.

- Assist staffing coordinators in defining project team requirements for projects within the practice or solution area.
- Work with Director of Delivery Services to establish a professional development needs for high potential internal candidate practitioners of the enterprise architecture practice.
Qualifications
Knowledge Preferred:
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of and/or leading client-facing Enterprise Architect projects that specialize in blueprinting, business architecture, application rationalization, architecture governance, project quality assurance, and building and/or improving the Office of the Architect, which includes the following:
- Enterprise Architecture recommendations, including the development of the architecture reference model for the client environment and the selling of architecture recommendations to clients;
- Development and implementation of appropriate Enterprise Architecture Governance process tools and Governance models
- Design and process review sessions that leverages knowledge of industry expertise;
- Development of the appropriate 'Enterprise Architect 'As-Is' and To-Be' architecture based on Product and Business requirements, including leading, working and managing an architecture project teams that make, and/or contribute directly, recommendations for the appropriate architecture approach;
- Development of business processes, business applications and database design that leverages extensive knowledge of systems engineering, Cloud computing, and/or of the following architecture tools -- Systems Architect, TROUX, or ARIS
Skills Preferred:
Must have operational experience in developing, supporting and maintaining a large integrated production application domain while working in an integrated cross-functional team of stakeholders.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors or Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or related field.
Travel
50% more or less depending on project; candidate should be comfortable with travel and overtime as client commitment requires.
